YouTube Trending Page India

Today, after a period of two months, I decided to check YouTube India's Trending Page hoping to see a lot of changes and watch quality content being featured on the 'Popular Videos in India' page, but to my disappointment, nothing has changed since the last time I checked it. The same clickbait videos with misleading thumbnails and titles, videos about making people rich with a few cloves and a lemon, the same vulgar pranks, and the same hateful videos.

I'm sorry but I can't post the photos of the videos currently trending on YouTube India.

It all began in September 2016 with Reliance Jio's Welcome Offer which offered 1 gigabyte of internet data each day free of cost. The move was targeted to introduce the world of internet to a large population of Indians who could not afford the expensive internet data packs offered by other existing companies. Though this move helped to improve India's connectivity to the internet to a great extent but along with it rose a few problems.

One of the adverse effects of this offer was observed on the YouTube India Trending Page which started featuring a lot of spam, vulgar and clickbait videos.

YouTube is an international platform where one can make his or her presence felt on the world stage. A large number of hardworking and deserving people invest a lot of their time, money and effort in producing great content on the platform and when such videos start featuring on the trending page it is quite unfair and unjust to them. Such videos, some with highly vulgar thumbnails and content, getting millions of views kind of projects the mentality of the people in our country to the world and in a way encourage more of such content to be made. It is really sad when the videos of some of the most dedicated and deserving youtubers, giving their 100%  in each video and adding value to people's lives by producing quality content, never manage to make it on the trending page

YouTube is a great platform. YouTube has played a very important part in my life. In fact, I'd never have known anything about blogging if YouTube did not exist. But when you see such trash videos being promoted by YouTube India, you start feeling very sad about the continuous degradation of the platform. YouTube India has lost a lot of credibility, at least for me. Advertisements on such vulgar videos literally make no sense as it is easy to guess the mentality of their viewers. I'm writing this post because I love YouTube and as an Indian, I don't want YouTube India to become just another cheap and vulgar video publishing site.

Some steps that can be taken to solve this problem are:
  1. Stop falling into the trap of clickbaits and always flag such videos.
  2. Unsubscribe all channels featuring such content including prank channels promoting and producing such content for getting views.
  3. YouTube India should stop promoting such videos by putting them on the trending page. There should be a careful and strict watch over the content being featured in the popular section.
  4. Channels producing such content should be deleted or demonetized
  5. We should stop sharing the vulgar and fake videos produced by the so-called news channels on YouTube.
  6. Almost every person wants to get rich within a few days without having to do anything for it and the spammers are taking advantage of this mentality and posting rubbish magical spells and techniques to get rich within a fortnight. Thus, people need to change their mentality and realize that there is no such way that'll magically make you a millionaire in a few days.

So friends that is all with today's post. Please don't forget to comment down your views and suggestions. Subscribe for more posts.
Until next time,
keep reading and keep smiling:)
